Hard Rock Cafe Toronto – revisited

I published a post April 8th 2011 on the Hard Rock Cafe Toronto presenting a few pictures and old t-shirts from there. However I’ve been called to travel to Toronto a lot more for work and have been there quite a bit recently. The Hard Rock Cafe Toronto on Young Street was opened on June 23, 1978 (I was 6). It is the 2nd oldest open Hard Rock Café in the world after the London original.

Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas

I visited the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas in August 2003 during my honeymoon. At that point, the Harc Rock Cafe itself was located within the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. However, there are now the 2 distinct locations – the Cafe reopened September 5th 2009 (as the Montreal Hard Rock Cafe was closing). The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has been around since 1995. I remember we ate there and had a Rum Runner cocktail which was slushy compared to the same I’d had over at the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino where we were staying.

Hard Rock Cafe Moscow

Lucky me once again as their itinerary took them near the HRC in Moscow as well, again with a little time to spare. I was delighted when they returned with not only a few t-shirts (many actually) but a few photos of the place which was beyond expectations given their time constraints.

Hard Rock Cafe Munich

My in-laws made a wonderful trip last September 2011. They followed an organised trip through Russia visiting St-Petersburg and Moscow while passing through Munich, Germany. As is usual with organised trips of the sort, travelers have very little free / leisure time. Their days are usually booked from dawn to dusk and then some.

Hard Rock Cafe Chicago

I visited Chicago in early October 2011 as I began my new job as Vice-President of IAB Canada by attending the annual Borrell Local Mobile Advertising Conference. Cette succursale de la chaîne qui me passionne tant est un mélange de deux genres. The majority or Hard Rock Cafe restaurants are dark and subdued, often closed or tight spaces (usually a consequence of downtown locations). This one is a little on the dark side, but very vast aid airy, like the stage room at the Times Square location or the Foxwoods Hard Rock Cafe. This location boasts a stage (as you’ll see below) for bands to play, like in New York, Punta Cana and many other places. Please also checkout my recent post on the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago.

Hard Rock Hotel Chicago

I visited Chicago in early October 2011 as I began my new job as Vice-President of IAB Canada by attending the annual Borrell Local Mobile Advertising Conference. The Hard Rock Hotel is located on North Michigan Avenue 2 blocks from where my conference was held. I was lucky to be able to catch an earlier flight so I had time to visit the hotel on my way from the Airport to where my conference was held. I took plenty of pictures of the place from outside and in, as well as bought t-shirts of my family and friends.

Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore

I visited Baltimore, Maryland, very briefly during an extended weekend from June 23rd to 27th with my family and some friends. The main goal of the trip was to spend a day at Six Flags America between Washington DC and Baltimore and another day visiting Washington DC with diner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Our detour on the way back through Baltimore was a little luxury – quick stroll on the harbour front and diner at HRC Baltimore where a live band was playing. Our way in was marked by the end of an Orioles game as everyone was leaving the stadium we were driving by = traffic.

Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods

Where in the world is Foxwoods? That was my first question upon seeing someone wearing a Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods t-shirt at Six Flags in Springfield Massachusetts last summer. Hard Rock Dot Com informed me it’s in Connecticut about 1h30 south of Springfield. But what’s there that warrants a Hard Rock Café (knowing full well the one in Montreal – population 3 million – closed in 2009). Foxwoods is a native American reserve where has sprouted a huge casino complex in the middle of nowhere (really) – but there is an MGM Grand alongside the Foxwoods Hotel & Casino, lots of prestigious boutiques and well known chain restaurants.

Hard Rock Cafe New York

I visited New York in 2005 with my girlfriend and several friends. Naturally we had supper at the Hard Rock Café located right at Time Square. That’s where I bought my All Access Pass. This Hard Rock Café fidelity card allows me to “cut in line” like a VIP (was useful then in NY and a few times since, like in Atlantic City where there’s a line up. I also accumulate 10% value off all my restaurant charges and Rock Shop buys applicable to any future visit. As you may have noticed, I often visit with a group which accelerates the total giving me a free t-shirt every once in a while. There is another HRC in New York City, at Yankee Stadium – to which I’ve recently been – subject of a future post.
